As you may know, USPS offers a discount for First Class postage rate for letters that weigh from 1 to 13 ounces. This discount rate is calculated by the ounce and is rounded up to the nearest whole ounce (e.g. If your letter weighs 1.1 oz, you will be charged the 2 oz. rate).
This BigTop scale also offers you 10 TIMES the accuracy needed to weigh letters (USPS rates are calculated in 1 ounce increments – this scale’s accuracy is 0.1 oz)
USPS packages that weigh over 13 ounces will be shipped at 1 pound via USPS Priority Mail rates. UPS, Fed Ex, DHL, and other carriers start their shipping rates at 1 pound and round up to the next whole pound (e.g. If your package weighs 1.2 pound, you will be charged the 2 pound rate).

Note: Once a stable weight is obtained, the scale will beep and LOCK, HOLD, and DISPLAY the weight for about 10 seconds.
