As you may know, USPS offers a discount for First Class postage rate for letters that weigh from 1 to 13 ounces. This discount rate is calculated by the ounce and is rounded up to the nearest whole ounce (e.g. If your letter weighs 1.2 oz, you will be charged the 2 oz. rate).

This AWS series scale also offers you 5 TIMES the accuracy needed to weigh letters (USPS rates are calculated in 1 oz increments – this scales accuracy is 0.2 oz)

USPS packages that weigh over 13 ounces will be shipped at 1 pound via USPS Priority Mail rates. UPS, Fed Ex, DHL, and other carriers start their shipping rates at 1 pound and round up to the next whole pound (e.g. If your package weighs 1.2 pound, you will be charged the 2 pound rate).

The AUTO-HOLD feature allows you to weigh boxes larger than the scale by automatically holding the weight on the box until you can remove the box and obtain the displayed weight.

How to use AUTO-HOLD (see image above)
Step 1) Press ON button
Step 2) Place box on platform
Step 3) Wait for Beep
Step 4) Remove box
Step 5) Read the displayed weight of the box

Note: Once a stable weight is obtained, the scale will beep and LOCK, HOLD, and DISPLAY the weight for about 10 seconds.
